 After
teaching English in China for a year, I came back to the States a bit
lost. My (very wise) mother suggested I take an art class. It was one
of those evening community art classes... “Watercolor for the Beginner”
… and I’ve been hooked ever since.
It’s been
nearly 15 years since that first class. I’m always amazed how the
watercolor painting continues to intrigue and challenge me. Painting continues
to teach me to see and slow down. For the most part, I’m a self-taught
artist currently living in sunny Southern California painting as much
as I can.
If
I’m not painting I’m…
Reading
Writing – children’s books, scripts
Drinking good coffee
Bothering my cat
Pleading to God
Pulling weeds
Knitting
Eating chocolate cake
Sitting on the porch with my geraniums
Collecting great quotes
Thanking God
The best compliment
I ever received was “Your art makes me happy.”
